“We met on our beginner course and have done exVirgins Week together every year since. These people became our closest friends, and sailing together is now our annual tradition. The freedom of no instruction but with the SV community vibe is perfect.”
“I've done five exVirgins Weeks in four different destinations. Each one is unique. Croatia with its parties, BVI with its perfect sailing, Greece with its incredible food. But the common thread is the people. These trips have given me lifelong friends across three continents.”
“Our whole crew from our 2021 beginner course reunites every year for exVirgins Week. We started as strangers, became certified sailors together, and now we are family who happens to sail. This year we brought our partners - the community keeps growing!”
“I was nervous to sign up solo, but I shouldn't have been. I reconnected with people from my catamaran course and made new friends from other cohorts. The WhatsApp group is still buzzing months later. It is like summer camp for adults, but with better drinks and views.”

Everything you need to plan your reunion week - destination comparisons, group booking tips, how to coordinate with past crewmates, and insider tips from veteran exVirgins.
What's inside:
You must have completed at least one Sailing Virgins course - any level counts! Whether you did Intro to Sailing or Advanced Offshore, you are part of the family. You should hold at least an ASA 101 certification (or equivalent) and feel comfortable on a yacht.
No formal instruction - that is the point! You already know how to sail. We have an experienced skipper aboard for safety and local knowledge, but they are there to facilitate, not teach. Think of them as your guide and safety net, not your instructor.
If you want to improve your skills, check out our Intermediate or Advanced courses instead.
exVirgins Week is exclusively for Sailing Virgins alumni. If your friends want to join, they will need to complete a course first - which is a great excuse for another sailing trip! We do this to maintain the community vibe and ensure everyone has the baseline skills for adventure sailing.
Absolutely! When booking, let us know if you are reuniting with specific crewmates and we will do our best to accommodate. Many exVirgins Weeks are planned by groups who sailed together before. We can also connect you with other alumni going to the same destination if you are looking to meet new people.
We offer exVirgins Weeks in all our destinations:
- **BVI** - The original Sailing Virgins home base, perfect sailing conditions
- **Croatia** - Game of Thrones vibes, historic towns, incredible nightlife
- **Greece** - Island hopping paradise, crystal Aegean waters
- **Thailand** - Exotic adventure, limestone cliffs, floating bars
We often schedule flotilla events where multiple boats from different courses sail together - check our calendar for these special reunions!
exVirgins Week is typically 20-25% less than our instructional courses because there's no formal teaching component. You still get:
- 7 nights on a fully-equipped yacht
- Experienced skipper/guide
- All meals onboard
- Fuel and mooring fees
- The legendary Sailing Virgins experience
Pricing starts at $2,995 per person depending on destination and yacht.
That is totally normal - most of us do not sail every day! exVirgins Week is a low-pressure environment to shake off the rust. You will have experienced sailors around you (including the skipper), and muscle memory kicks in faster than you think.
If you are really concerned, consider doing a refresher day before your trip or joining an Intermediate course to level up first.
