Sail, Learn, Swim, Repeat

Start your day on the water with real sailing lessons.

Practice new skills, anchor in clear turquoise bays, and jump off the yacht for a swim. Then wrap it up with a beach bar cocktail or a sunset dinner of fresh seafood.

This course is active, immersive, and still feels like a vacation.

Learn from the Top-Rated Sailing School

We’re not the type of sailing school that teaches from the dock. Sailing Virgins is the highest-rated academy on TripAdvisor for action-based courses.

Every Sailing Virgin's instructor completes our in-house Instructor Academy before leading any course. Our instructors are certified, experienced, and know how to make a week aboard fun and productive.

When aboard, you're learning from someone who knows how to improve your sailing skills.

Earn ASA Certifications That Open Doors

Courses in Saint Martin are built around American Sailing Association (ASA) certifications. Depending on your experience, you can complete up to two certifications in one week. Options include:

ASA 101: Basic Keelboat

ASA 103: Coastal Cruising

ASA 104: Bareboat Chartering

ASA 105: Coastal Navigation

ASA 106: Advanced Coastal Cruising

ASA 114: Cruising Catamaran

If you choose the catamaran option, you can add ASA 114 to your course. This certification is available in addition to the two core certifications already included.

And if you complete ASA 104 or above, you’ll be eligible to apply for the International Proficiency Certificate (IPC). It’s a credential often required for chartering yachts in Europe.

Train on Performance Yachts

Image 4

Spend seven full days living and sailing aboard a yacht over 40 feet long. The boats used for our courses include both monohulls and catamarans. Each one is selected for its responsive handling, onboard comfort, and suitability for hands-on training.

You will learn by doing. Trim sails while underway, set and retrieve anchors, and maneuver in tight marina spaces. Every task on board becomes a practical learning opportunity.

Push Your Skills Offshore

Unlike short coastal courses, this one gives you the chance to sail longer passages. Weather permitting, we sail to places like St Barth or Saba, where offshore navigation becomes part of the real-world learning.

This adventure sailing course adds real-world distance to your learning. You’ll have the chance to cross open water and apply what you’ve learned in real conditions.
