The Sailing Virgins Sept 24 course in Croatia was an amazing, full experience. Our instructor Oran created a team/family out of 4 strangers in just 1 day. He taught from a place of deep experience and instilled that confidence in us. My husband and I were first timers on a sailing boat for this long of a time and really new to sailing in general. However, we were empowered by Oran to feel comfortable sailing and living in a boat almost right away. Not only did we learn to sail (and pass our exams) we learned so much about life. We were encouraged to adventure past our comfort zones. We hiked, did breathwork, cooked, explored and so much more. Can’t speak highly enough of the course and our instructor. We will be doing many more SV courses in the future!

One week in Croatia with Sailing Virgins turned out to be one of the best times in my life. Our teacher Oran Teach (look hime up on IG and youtube) delivered an amazing experience balancing fun, training and increadible destinations in Croatia. I came out of this week having made new friends, learned sailing skills, inspired, confident and motivated to continue growing as a sailor and as person I cannot recommend this experience enough!

We sailed with Oran as our instructor from Split in Croatia. 3 couples and the most passionate teacher who worked hard to make sure we all developed the critical skills to enjoy our own bareboat charter. It is worth checking Oran out at Oranteach on instagram. He makes 60+ year olds feel like 20 year olds with his humour. He is also a great chef and provider. If you want an adventure where you learn new skills this could not be better!

The entire experience was well orchestrated and well organized. Communication in advance of the trip was great - from managing all the prep materials to simply setting expectations about what we needed and what we would do. The experience on the boat (in Croatia) was fantastic, and this all had to do with our instructor - Oran - I could not imagine having done this with anybody else (though I’m sure there are many qualified instructors) - the course took real work but I really felt like I had a partner in Oran and how he managed our group as a crew, and on a personal level, I can’t say enough. Well done to the entire Sailing Virgins team for this experience !

This year I have been on two Sailing Virgins trips and I highly recommend them as a company. My first trip was with Orlaugh and she was an incredible instructor in the British Virgin Islands for our all women’s course. She was thoughtful and thorough and extremely well-versed in sailing. My second instructor was Oran in Croatia, and he is a brilliant sailor and wise beyond his years. He taught us navigation, breathing and diving techniques, and inspired us try things out of our comfort zone. It was such a treat to have been on trip with both of this amazing and truly inspired people. 10/10 would go on another SV trip!

@oxyo2023Jose loves sailing. And it shows. He’s an attentive instructor who is invested in helping people learn. It takes boatloads of patience, skillful communication and trust to teach others to successfully manœuvre and dock a 10+ tonne sailboat. Jose helped everyone accomplish that - and he did it with “tonnes” of humour 🤓. What an unforgettable week of sailing and adventuring with beautiful people I now call friends!

This was absolutely one of the best trips I’ve ever been on in my life. I went stressed out and came back the most relaxed I have ever been. Sailing Virgins put us on a beautiful boat in Croatia and gave us their best skipper/instructor in Oran. He was absolutely the best and will be a friend/brother for life!!! I will book with Sailing Virgins again! Croatia itself is beautiful and I highly suggest a trip. The people and culture are amazing. The water and wind in the Adriatic is a dream come true for any sailor. Thank you Oran for bringing me back down to earth and teaching me to enjoy being present.

What an amazing adventure! Sailing the islands of Croatia for a week , swimming in crystal clear private coves and hopping ashore at night to experience the night life of little harbor towns was just the best time ever. Our skipper Oran was amazing! Laid back and generous with his sailing knowledge while being one of the funnest and funniest people I’ve ever met. And he was a great chef preparing yummy food throughout our journey. He truly made the trip special and unforgettable. Our sister ship skipper Shabby also made our trip great, the chemistry between Oran and Shabby was magic, so much fun! Before the trip I read the trips are tailored for athletic active 30 year old/ millennials, that’s a vague memory for me since I’m 70 years old! But I thought, oh well I’m going for it, and I’m so glad I did. Everyone was so welcoming and accepting of me. Thank you all. 2boats full of great people, so much fun,a trip I will never forget.

Our carefully planned routes take you through stunning waters. You'll dock in medieval towns where cobblestone streets meet modern marinas, creating a uniquely Croatian experience.
📍Brač
Meet us at 3 PM the Marina Kaštela and meet your fellow sailors and instructor. After getting to know your new home for the week your instructor will conduct a safety briefing and talk you through the course plan. Shortly afterwards, you will be on your way! Night one you will anchor in beautiful natural bay a short sail across to the island of Brać, taking the dinghy in to shore to enjoy a small local restaurant.
📍Korčula
Make the most of living on a yacht and dive off the back for a morning swim! After breakfast you will set sail for the beautiful island of Korčula. A quick stop in a quiet bay for lunch and a swim if you like will have you energised for more learning! You will find your sea legs as your instructor continues to teach you going through the course syllabus.
📍Šćedro
After some morning yoga you will work up a passage plan and head across to the island of Šćedro where you will find a quiet anchorage far away from modern cities giving you a flashback to the traditional Dalmatian way of life.
📍Komiža
An early start will get you across to the gorgeous island of Vis and a secret beach for lunch, did we mention swimming through caves on the way? If you are seeking some adrenaline today, you have the chance to do some cliff jumping. After lunch, you will head around to the West of the island to discover the charming little village of Komiža.
📍Vis
You will have the morning off to explore the gorgeous island of Vis. Think scooters or drop top ’60s VW Beetles. Wine tours are great here, or simply ride to the top of the hill for an amazing view of the Adriatic. After lunch, set sail for the other side of the island. Enjoy a traditional ‘peka’ dinner that you will love!
📍Hvar
It doesn’t get much better than a morning spent sat at a café on the riva just steps from the back of your yacht enjoying fresh pastries and espresso. Vis is lovely. Today you will head to undoubtably the most beautiful stop of the week, Hvar. Once you’re tied to shore, stretch your legs for a hike to the fort or enjoy a mojito at the infamous Hula Hula bar with one of the best sunsets you’re likely to see, ever.
📍Kaštela Base
On your last day you will take your ASA exams and sail back to the marina Kastela. Make the most of the marina facilities with a warm shower and laundry facilities if you’re continuing your travels. This evening you can knock out your theory tests before dinner at another great local restaurant or have a night of dinner, wine and cards onboard.
Finish
A final debrief over breakfast and then you will be anointed as an ex-Virgin! You will leave the yacht by 9am to head to the airport or into Split to continue your adventures. Game of Thrones fan? Head down the coast to the beautiful old town of Dubrovnik to discover Kings Landing.
Your next great story is waiting to begin.
