Cancellation Policy
This page reflects the same course-cancellation terms used in checkout and in our Terms & Conditions.
How cancellations are calculated
Cancellations must be notified to us in writing by post or email. The penalties are calculated from the date we receive your cancellation.
Cancellation fee schedule
More than 90 days before course
Tier 1
10% administration fee (90% refund)
90-61 days before course
Tier 2
50% of total course fee (50% refund)
Less than 61 days before course
Tier 3
100% of total course fee (no refund)
Medical cancellations
If you are unable to obtain the mandatory medical clearance required under Section 10 and notify us within 14 days of booking, we will refund your deposit in full. If you notify us after 14 days or within the penalty periods above, standard cancellation fees apply.
Named storms and natural events
No refunds will be issued for cancellations due to named storms or other natural events affecting your course. Travel insurance with appropriate coverage is mandatory.
If Sailing Virgins cancels
If Sailing Virgins cancels a course without reason, all monies paid by you to us in respect of the provision of the course will be returned.
Travel insurance
Travel insurance with appropriate coverage is mandatory.
Appropriate coverage should include trip cancellation/interruption, named storms or hurricanes, emergency medical evacuation, and medical cover valid for maritime activities.
How to request a cancellation
Send your cancellation request in writing by email or post. The applicable penalty is based on the date Sailing Virgins receives that request.
