Sailing in Patagonia is unlike anywhere else. This is a destination that belongs on your bucket list.

Here, glacier-fed fjords wind between forested cliffs, and remote islands are only reachable by boat. The setting is peaceful, wild, and unforgettable.

If you’re looking to learn to sail in a place that feels off the radar, this is one of the most rewarding ways to do it!

Why Choose Our Patagonia Sailing School?

A Sailing School in a Rare Location

You’ll visit places that are only accessible by boat. These aren’t crowded harbors or commercial marinas. They are peaceful anchorages, hidden springs, and village docks far from the typical sailing routes.

Earn 2 ASA Certifications

Each week-long course includes two ASA levels. Beginners often complete ASA 101 and ASA 103. If you already hold ASA 103, you may qualify for ASA 104, which is required for chartering yachts in most regions.

Learn from Instructors Who Know These Waters

Nacha and Pascal are local sailors who completed training with the Sailing Virgins Instructor Academy. They combine professional teaching standards with local experience. Their experience helps you understand both practical sailing and the environment around you.

Live the Sailing Life in Patagonia

You’ll spend seven days living on board a yacht with warm cabins, private heads, and shared meals. Each day brings a new anchorage and a new challenge. This course gives you a full immersion into the rhythm of real sailing.

Ideal Conditions for Skill Development

Northern Patagonia offers steady wind, protected coastlines, and deep natural anchorages. The geography supports open water sailing and close-quarters boat handling. These conditions help you practice helm control, anchoring, and docking.

Small Groups and Focused Learning

Each boat carries no more than five students. This allows for more time at the helm and one-on-one coaching. You will rotate through every position on board. Instructors provide daily feedback to help you improve quickly and safely.

Earn Certifications While Exploring Remote Anchorages

As you move through your ASA training, you will also experience Patagonia’s natural beauty and cultural depth.

Each week includes a combination of sailing, hiking, kayaking, and local experiences such as oyster tasting, hot springs, and coastal cuisine.

After completing ASA 104, you can apply for the International Proficiency Certificate (IPC). This is recognized by most charter companies worldwide.

By the end of the week, you will have gained new connections with others who value practical learning and adventure.

Learn to Make Good Decisions Under Pressure

Sailing teaches more than boat handling. It helps you stay calm, lead clearly, and adjust quickly when things change.

You’ll build decision-making skills that carry into work, travel, and life. Plus, you’ll gain real confidence through practice.
