Returns to ACI Marina Split

This is a sample route — your actual itinerary may vary based on weather, wind conditions, and crew preferences. That's the beauty of sailing!

Meet us at your assigned marina in the Split area (exact marina is in your booking confirmation). You'll meet your fellow sailors and instructor, and after getting to know your new home for the week your instructor will conduct a safety briefing and talk you through the course plan. Shortly afterwards, you will be on your way! Night one you will anchor in a beautiful natural bay a short sail across to the island of Brac, taking the dinghy in to shore to enjoy a small local restaurant.

Make the most of living on a yacht and dive off the back for a morning swim! After breakfast you will set sail for the beautiful island of Korcula. A quick stop in a quiet bay for lunch and a swim if you like will have you energised for more learning! You will find your sea legs as your instructor continues to teach you going through the course syllabus.

After some morning yoga you will work up a passage plan and head across to the island of Scedro where you will find a quiet anchorage far away from modern cities giving you a flashback to the traditional Dalmatian way of life.

An early start will get you across to the gorgeous island of Vis and a secret beach for lunch, did we mention swimming through caves on the way? If you are seeking some adrenaline today, you have the chance to do some cliff jumping. After lunch, you will head around to the West of the island to discover the charming little village of Komiza.

You will have the morning off to explore the gorgeous island of Vis. Think scooters or drop top '60s VW Beetles. Wine tours are great here, or simply ride to the top of the hill for an amazing view of the Adriatic. After lunch, set sail for the other side of the island. Enjoy a traditional 'peka' dinner that you will love!

It doesn't get much better than a morning spent sat at a cafe on the riva just steps from the back of your yacht enjoying fresh pastries and espresso. Vis is lovely. Today you will head to undoubtably the most beautiful stop of the week, Hvar. Once you're tied to shore, stretch your legs for a hike to the fort or enjoy a mojito at the infamous Hula Hula bar with one of the best sunsets you're likely to see, ever.

On your last day you will take your ASA exams and sail back to the marina Kastela. Make the most of the marina facilities with a warm shower and laundry facilities if you're continuing your travels. This evening you can knock out your theory tests before dinner at another great local restaurant or have a night of dinner, wine and cards onboard.

A final debrief over breakfast and then you will be anointed as an ex-Virgin! You will leave the yacht by 9am to head to the airport or into Split to continue your adventures. Game of Thrones fan? Head down the coast to the beautiful old town of Dubrovnik to discover Kings Landing.

Flexible sailing: Routes adapt to conditions. Your instructor will tailor the experience to maximize your learning and enjoyment.

FAQs About Our Croatia Sailing School

Croatia offers the ultimate Mediterranean sailing classroom with 1,200+ islands, challenging Bora and Maestral winds, and medieval harbors perfect for mastering the med-moor. The Dalmatian Coast combines world-class ASA instruction with unforgettable cultural experiences.

Our Croatia weeks run from late May to early October. July through September brings the steadiest Maestral afternoon breezes of 10-15 knots, warm temperatures, and crystal-clear Adriatic waters; May, June and early October are quieter in the harbours with slightly cooler evenings.

No prior certification needed! Complete beginners start with ASA 101 and 102, while experienced sailors progress to ASA 103 and 104 — typically two levels per week. You'll earn certifications through daily hands-on learning with practical and theory exams.

No prior experience needed! Many of our most passionate sailors started as complete beginners. Our expert instructors love teaching newbies and will build your confidence from day one.

Quick-drying clothes, one warm layer, a soft duffel bag, and solid sun protection. Pack light — you'll need less than you think!

We'll show you local markets and teach you the art of boat provisioning. Expect fresh Mediterranean flavors daily, plus traditional peka dinners at local konobas in harbor towns.

Yes — think of it as a learn to sail vacation in Croatia rather than a classroom at sea. You earn ASA certifications through daily hands-on instruction, but you also swim in secluded bays, explore islands like Vis and Hvar, and share traditional peka dinners in harbor konobas. Instruction, accommodation aboard the yacht, and certification exams are all included.

Fly into Split Airport (SPU). You can either take an early flight on the day of the course or arrive the night before to rest. The course ends on Saturday morning — book flights for Saturday afternoon or Sunday.
